BAA Challenge Terms and Conditions
- All entries must comply with the full Challenge Criteria, Challenge Rules and Entry Requirements as laid down in the Full Challenge Criteria issued to competing schools upon registration.
- Teams will not be permitted to use manual assistance once the buggy run has commenced except when coupling the buggy to the trailer(s). (Failure to comply with this limitation will result in a time penalty, followed by a further time penalty for each successive offence – i.e. each time the buggy is touched.)
- Teams attending the national final must provide in advance (at a date specified by Young Engineers) the PowerPoint presentation they will use during the presentation. Teams failing to provide the presentation in advance will not be allowed to load it on the day. All presentations are virus and bug checked and preloaded onto an approved laptop.
- Teams selected to attend the national final must ensure that at least 50% of the original team members attend the final. If a team loses a member then a replacement may be added providing this does not increase the original number of students involved at selection.
- The decision of the judges is final and binding.
- The organisers reserve the right to change the date of the events and the prizes, but will notify contestants accordingly in good time should this be necessary.
- The organisers reserve the right to publicise entries at their discretion, but will make full acknowledgement to the entrant and their school or college. Similarly it is expected that contestants, who are approached by the media, will make full acknowledgement to Young Engineers as organisers of the event.
- Young Engineers reserves the right to use any quotes, photos or statements of the students or accompanying adults participating in the competition in their publicity materials or press releases etc.
