We are constantly amazed by the variety of activities our clubs are involved in. There is a huge wealth of initiatives for clubs to choose from, and many clubs also create their own activities. We're now building up a portfolio of club stories to give others an idea of the sorts of things our network members are involved in. Tell us your club's story

Dyffryn Taf - Team Dragon
(Secondary School-based club in Whitland, Wales)Our School motto is "Aim for the Highest". The past academic year has been our most succesful to date winning no less than seven major prizes in 20 competitions.
Grangefield Young Engineers
(Specialist Technology School-based club in Cleveland)
This club has enabled this Specialist Technology College to develop: "more able and engaged students; stronger links with parents and the wider local community; alternatve approaches to curriculum areas; and opportunities to promote the school in the press".

“I have found running the club really beneficial for honing my own skills as Science Coordinator. We have 36 children coming to the after-school club, and even some of the Year 7s who attended last year’s club are coming back to help out. The club has been so popular that I would like to introduce activities for Years 4 and 5 too.”

Even 6 year olds can be young engineers: "The objective is to give the children an opportunity to explore design and technology in a fun, hands-on way and to give them the chance to create something, no matter what their level of ability"

This club runs a huge variety of activities including their proudest project, the Hovercraft, which has even earnt them airtime on the BBC!

This club is based in Mortimer Primary School in Tyne & Wear. They love entering competitions - and are pretty good at winning them!
Launceston Young Engineers
(Technology college-based club in Cornwall)
This club focuses on the Schools Marine Challenge with students taking part for several years running, developing and refining their entries based on lessons learnt from previous years.
