Young Engineers Annual Celebration of Engineering 2010
Held at : The Big Bang - Manchester Central 11-13 March 2010
Young Engineer for Britain finalists and Young Engineers Clubs are delighted to have been involved in the Big Bang Fair last week.
The Big Bang also played host to the national finals of CREST Awards and the National Science and Engineering Competition.
The Big Bang Fair was open to visiting schools and the general public during the course of the three day event.
The National Science and Engineering Competition
A new and exciting way to recognise all STEM achievement for 11-18 year olds whether as individuals or in teams. This is a good opportunity for students to gain acknowledgment of their STEM related projects and win prizes and international trips. This government supported competition is looking for direct entries for the national final in March. Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and Young Engineer for Britain Competition
Every year three of the top performing finalists entered into the Young Engineer for Britain Competition are chosen to compete in the Intel Intermational Science and Engineering Fair held in the USA. Students are selected from the projects showcased at the Big Bang Fair in March. Annual Celebration of Engineering - 2009
The UK Young Scientist and Engineers Fair- The Big Bang
4-6 March QEII Exhibition Centre, Westminster.
This year the national finals of the Young Engineer for Britain and Young Engineers National Club Awards were held at the Annual Celebration of Engineering which was hosted by the UK Young Scientist and Engineers Fair - The Big Bang.
Students from throughout the UK represented Young Engineers at the new event and had the opportunity to win major prizes, awards and industrial visits outside the normal YEB and Club Awards competitions. In addition the students and accompanying adults had the opportunity to take part in workshops, seminars and hands on activities based around all areas of science and engineering and visit the industry exhibition which ran alongside the competition zone.
Students also attended the event through the CREST Awards Scheme and the new National Science Competition. Young Engineers were delighted to be part of this new event and to be working in partnership with the British Science Association and the ETB.
The event was open to registered visiting schools who took part in the various workshops and activities as well as visit both the competition and industry zones.
