Young Engineer or Britain 2009-2010

The results are in! HURRAY and CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners and all who took part in the national final.

We are delighted to announce the results of the Young Engineer for Britian 2009-2010 competition which was held last week at the Big Bang in Manchester, 11-13 March.

With visits from the Duke of Kent, Lord Mandelson as well as several other dignitaries, the event had a real buzz and excitement factor. Braniac Live and Bang Goes the Theory ran live shows for visiting schools and competitiors and we even had a coffee powered car arrive after its journey up from London! Arrayed amongst the competitor displays were industrial hands on activities, provided by a variety of companies such as Siemens, Shell, BAE Systems and Astra Zeneca!

The projects were fantastic, the students amazing and it was a very real battle for the judges to decide the winners with so much talent to choose from. Eventually, they reached agreement and here are our winners!

Note: Students qualified withtheir projects in the 2008-2009 academic year, they therefore are judged within the age category they were in at the time.
